I’m a freelance writer, reporter, and editor based in Turkey.

My writing—on politics, immigration, and other topics—has appeared in The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books, The Washington Post, and Outside.

I report in both English and Turkish, and have been writing full time since late 2022. For the five years prior I was a copy editor and producer at The New Yorker.

A native of the Pacific Northwest and former resident of New York City and Santa Fe, I now live in Istanbul, with my wife and two dogs.
